Jean-Claude Ellena has left his mark on the landscape of French Haute Parfumerie for more than fifty years. Its meteoric rise is based on a style of rare elegance, an olfactory signature with a subtle blend of purity and accuracy. After his long years spent in olfactory creation at Hermès, Jean-Claude Ellena chooses his collaborations sparingly. He speaks of the Couvent as a crush, a story of encounters, exchanges, and points of attachment: noble materials, singularity and naturalness.

When Jean Claude Ellena talks about perfume, he talks about places that inspire him. Memories, memories recomposed thanks to smells. Composing a perfume is writing a story. A narrative that takes the wearer elsewhere. Choosing a perfume is much more than a smell that you like or not. It is an evocation, a story capable of telling who we are or who we would have liked to be. It is also taking the time to discover, to appropriate the perfume, to give yourself the time, to breathe and to be inspired.
